Description
About Bee Pollen
As bees visit flowers in search of nectar, tiny pollen grains cling to the fine hairs on their bodies through static electricity. The bees add small amounts of nectar and natural enzymes and form the pollen into tiny granules or pellets.
It is collected using a pollen trap at the hive entrance, which gently removes some pollen from returning bees, and it is then cleaned and preserved by drying or freezing. Because the flowers vary, each batch is slightly different.

Frequently asked questions
What is bee pollen?
Pollen that honey bees collect from flowers while foraging and pack into small granules, adding a little nectar and natural enzymes.
Is bee pollen the same as honey?
No. Honey is made from nectar. Bee pollen is the pollen that clings to the bees as they visit flowers, gathered and brought back to the hive.
What is the difference between bee pollen and bee bread?
Bee pollen is collected from flowers and packed into granules by worker bees. Bee bread begins as pollen but is then stored within the hive, mixed with honey and enzymes, and naturally fermented.
