Description
About Scottish Heather Honeycomb
Honeycomb is created when bees build wax cells within the hive, fill them with honey and seal each cell with a thin wax cap. Unlike jarred honey, it is harvested exactly as the bees made it, preserving both the honey and the edible beeswax. Many customers are surprised to learn that the wax can be eaten.
It is one of the most traditional Scottish hive products, and it pairs particularly well with mature cheeses.
