American sourdough pancakes – Our favourite breakfast item –

There is no better reward for getting out of bed on Sunday morning than a plate full of American sourdough pancakes with delicious honey and seasonal fruit.  That is why this simple recipe will make this breakfast item your speciality. In order to prepare this deliciousness, you will need the sourdough starter. You can find a simple method of cultivating it here 

Ingredients for American sourdough pancakes:

2 cups of sourdough starter

1 banana

a spoonful of peanut butter

1 tablespoon of baking soda

4 spoons of milk

pinch of salt

dash of vegetable oil

honey to serve

 

Preparation

  1. Bind together crushed banana, sourdough starter, soda, peanut butter and oil.
  2. Add half of the milk and mix. If needed add more.
  3. Mix in oil to prevent sticking to the pan.

 

We recommend using a nonstick pan for frying. If you want You can skip the oil and make this delicious start of a day even more healthy. Simply preheat your pan very well on a small flame.

Serve it with fresh berries of your choosing, toasted pumpkin seeds and a spoonful of our delicious honey.
